The S.I.R. tubing is a customselected set that utilizes the bes ttube options for each application within the frame. For the front triangle NINER employs the new Reynolds 853 DZB (Double Zone Butting) tubing. Developed for mountain bikes, and specially for 29ers, Reynolds 853 DZB offers significant advantages.
For the stays, Niner incorporates steel custom bent in 3 dimensions.
The SIR 9 is now able to utilize tapered (or 1-1/8") steertube fork technology. The increased surface area of a tapered headtube allows a larger downtube, increasing strength and rigidity at the critical intersection.
The Niner BioCentric II makes adjustments easy across a wide range of gears and eliminates the need for adjustable dropouts, giving the cleanest possible solution for singlespeed use.
The SIR 9 uses 142 x 12spacing with an included maxle for added rear- end torsionalstiffness, post mount brake posses between the chain and seatstay for braking precision.
